Week 1
How did we get here? What type of parent are you currently, is it working? What is your child's temperament? We talk about how resilience is modelled and how to avoid maladaptive coping strategies. This week is important so you understand why it's critical to course correct what is causing escalation in the home and affecting your peace.
Week 2
Behavior is just information. You can't talk to the amygdala. We explore consciousness, reaction vs responding, self psychology and triggers. This week's focus is to help you understand what is happening in the brain during emotional dysregulation and identify what is underneath behavior and teach your child to regulate their emotions. A life skill!
Week 3
Practising the CALM techniques and mirroring conversations. These are the new skills you will use in the face of crisis.

Week 4
Deepening your mastery of the CALM technique.

Week 5
We cover empathy/validation. Does your child feel heard? How to get your child to hear you? You will learn how to identify if it's working when you both feel the oxytocin, the brain medicine. Introduction to repairing conversations to restore connection. This is critical to re-establish connection when it's broken.
Week 6
We cover containment, consequences and positive reinforcement. Understanding motivational rewards, setting loving limits- targeting behaviors. This is where parents always want to start but without the weeks leading up to this, consequences don't work or they get forgotten about all together because parents are defeated and want to give up.
Week 7
Introducing the family meeting. Here we look at what a healthy family discussion/communication can look like and should move to. This literally a gift the whole family can appreciate but parents especially appreciate their kids learning these invaluable communication skills.
